Blueno's POV

I sighed as the most recent group of spectators left.

I twitched, feeling someone's gaze boring into the back of my head.
Nervously, I looked over my shoulder to see Jyabara glaring at me in full ookami* form.

His look told me that if this didn't work I was soooo dead...
Course he could've been irritaed over the cluster of kids trying to pet him...

I cleared my throat.
All the kids looked up with hurt expressions.

"Time for the next performance..."
"AWWWWWWWW~!" They whined truging back to their parents.

"BLUE~NO~....How many more times do I have to do this?" Jyabara growled angrily.
"Only 3 or 4 more times...." I soothed "Just until we get 1,000 berries, remember?"

Jyabara snorted walking over to the hoop I had set up and lit on fire under a slight overhang so that it wouldn't go out.
The flames served a double purpose: it helped add effect to Jyabara's leaps as well as keeping people (namely me and Jyabara) warm on this chilly day...

I shrugged.
Only 3 or 4 more times, or until we came up with 1,000 berries.
Then we could treat Lucci...

I hoped Jyabara could hold out until then...

Jyabara's POV

I growled at a man who tried petting me.
My most recent show ended up with my fur catching on fire so I wasn't in a good mood.

"Hello Koinu-kun*!"
I started to growl when I realized that a small girl w/ purplish hair had said that to me.

She smiled sweetly before holding out a bag that I sniffed, cautiously at first then enthusiasticly.
STEAK!!! She had a STEAK in that bag!!

"I got a meal in here for your buddy and you, alright? Make sure you share it with him!" She held out the bag.
Gingerly. I took the bag in my teeth from her wagging my tail to show I understood her.

As I carried it over to Blueno I heard her say "Keep up the good work Jya!"

I looked over my shoulder but the girl had vanished into the crowd.
I wonder what her name was....
